If you were planning to get an iPhone from abroad, you’re in luck. Gone are the days when iPhones bought from another country had to be serviced at ridiculous prices by third parties, because Apple has just announced that all new sim-free, unlocked iPhones will now come with international warranty.
What this means is that now you can ask that relative in the US to get you an iPhone for a much cheaper rate than your home country and still get full Apple support and warranty. This is bad news for third party repair centers though, as they usually charge a bomb for repairing damaged out of warranty iPhones.
Apple announcing this just before the iPhone X launch has made the iPhone X just that much more reachable. While the price of the iPhone X is a crazy Rs 90,000(1385 USD) here in India, it is priced at a much lower 999$(Rs 67,000) in the United States. So for people who can manage to bag one from over there, you can get it at a pretty lucrative price.
Even other iPhone models like the iPhone 8 are available at much cheaper prices internationally.
Do remember though that this warranty will not be applicable on locked iPhones which are unlocked via third party techniques and used on other carriers.
