As part of its One UI 3.1.1 update (Android 11), Samsung’s new Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 phones introduce a slew of innovative new features built for folding phones, but if you already own a Fold 2, Z Flip, or even the original Galaxy Fold, you’ll be able to access some of the new features without buying a new phone. Did you know the 3rd-gen foldable smartphones are already breaking sales records?
The customizable app windows for Samsung’s multitasking mode will also be available on the bigger Fold versions, allowing you to alter the height and breadth of individual applications when you have many apps open at once. The automatic rotating app feature, configurable aspect ratios, and a newly introduced split view for messaging applications will also be available on earlier devices.

The new Drag and Split function is also available on all five foldable models, and it lets you tap and drag on a link to view it side by side with the original webpage or message.
Finally, Samsung is adding the ability to compel applications to utilise its “Flex mode,” which places video content on one side of a folded display and playback controls on the other, to both the Z Fold 2 and the older Z Flips.
The majority of these capabilities are already available, however, if you have the original Galaxy Fold, you’ll have to wait an extra week. Samsung is still finding out how to effectively utilise these new form factors, but it isn’t abandoning early customers. Recently, Samsung has been very considerate for its flagship users. They also
announced 5 years of security and 3 generations of software updates for most of its recent flagship smartphones.
