The Galaxy S23 Ultra is here, folks! Samsung has finally raised the curtains off its beefiest Android flagship of 2023 at its annual Unpacked event. We also witnessed the launch of a relatively more affordable Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus at the event. Let’s not forget that Samsung also unveiled the New Galaxy Book3 Series. Talking of Galaxy S23 Ultra, you’re less likely to notice any changes from what you’ve seen on its predecessor. Apart from a slightly large camera setup and not-so-curvy display, there’s nothing new on the design part. All the upgrades are on the inside like the major camera upgrades and the latest Snapdragon processor for top-notch performance.
If you missed watching the launch event of Galaxy S23 Ultra, we have covered every minute detail here in brief. Keep reading!
Galaxy S23 Ultra Specifications: Great on the inside and out!
The Galaxy S23 Ultra features a massive 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display that comes with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ certification, and 1750 nits peak brightness. Living up to the expectation of integrating the newest chipset in the market, Samsung packs the latest Snapdragon Gen 2 chipset on all three models of the S23 lineup. Whereas the device runs on Android 13 and One UI 5.1 for smooth software and user experience right out of the box.
As far as protection is concerned, Samsung’s 2023 Android flagship comes with an Armor Aluminum Frame which is said to withstand tough drops and scratches. In addition, the front and back of the device are backed by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, which is an upgrade as compared to Gorilla Glass Victus+ we saw on S22 Ultra. Like last year, the Galaxy S23 series also comes with IP68 certification which suggests that the device is dust-resistant and water-resistant. It can be submerged in water up to 1.5m for 30 minutes. So, if you are heading to a pool party, don’t forget to carry to shoot underwater videos. That’s not all, this flagship smartphone comes with
5G, Wi-Fi 6E compatibility, and an S-Pen.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Camera: Welcome to the world of MEGAPIXELS!
The Galaxy S23 Ultra comes with a quad-camera setup on the back featuring a 200-megapixel primary camera with Laser AF, PDAF, and improved Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) features. The rest of the three sensors include 10 megapixels periscope telephoto lens and a telephoto lens with common dual-pixel PDAF and OIS features. Plus both the sensors come with 10x & 3x optical zoom, respectively. Further, you’ll find a 12 megapixels lens for ultrawide shots. To remind you, we previously reported that Samsung is planning something big for its upcoming flagship smartphone. Undoubtedly, the 200-megapixel main camera is a giant leap from last year’s S22 Ultra with 108 megapixels camera. Time will tell whether the 200 MP camera delivers as per the expectations and claims made by Samsung.
Galaxy S23 Ultra Battery and Charging: A Let-down?
As far as battery and charging speed is concerned, there are no major changes this year. The Galaxy S23 Ultra comes with the same 5000mAh battery and 45 Watts Power Deliver 3.0 wired charging speed. Honestly speaking, Samsung has to break the barriers and offer something remarkable for the price it offers the flagship models.
