Apple kicked off WWDC 2023 with multiple hardware announcements. During the opening keynote, Apple announced the new 15-inch MacBook Air with an M2 chip, the new Mac Studio with M2 Max, and Apple’s fastest M2 Ultra. We also witnessed the launch of Apple’s most anticipated AR headset, Vision Pro, the new Mac Pro with M2 Ultra. On the software front, the Cupertino giant announced iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS Sonoma, and watchOS 10. But, for now, let’s talk about the new Mac Studio.
The New Mac Studio powered by M2 Max and M2 Ultra
Apple has finally refreshed the Mac Studio with its first hardware update ever since its launch in 2022. The Cupertino giant has replaced the M1 Max and M1 Ultra chips and updated the Mac Studio with the M2 Max Chip and M2 Ultra chip. On the design front, it looks identical to its predecessor. That said, all the upgrades are on the inside with immensely improved performance.

M2 Max and M2 Ultra promise performance boost
Apple says that the M2 Max offers a 20% performance jump compared to the M1 Max. Besides, the M2 Ultra claims to provide a 30% jump in GPU performance, than its predecessor. That’s not all, when we talk of neural engines, the M2 Ultra is 40% faster.
The new Mac Studio with M2 Ultra is supposedly six times faster than the fastest Intel-based Mac. Let’s not forget that users can get up to a whopping 192 GB of unified memory with the M2 Ultra, which is 50% more than the M1 Ultra’s 128 GB.
On the connectivity front, Apple has increased the video bandwidth, which means you can connect an 8K display with a faster refresh rate. And, if you have tons of space, you can use Mac Studio to connect up to six Studio Display XDR.
It is worth mentioning that the new Mac Studio caters to the needs of professionals involved in resource-intensive jobs including video editing studios and 3D rendering farms.

Mac Studio Price and Availability
