It’s been a month since Apple wrapped the Wonderlust event where the iPhone 15 series, Apple Watch 9th Gen, 2nd Gen Watch Ultra, and the new AirPods launched. However, we didn’t hear a single word about the new iPad, whatsoever. But a new report suggests that the unveiling of new iPads with refreshed internals and M2 chips is likely to happen this week. New iPads with M2 chips are likely to debut in October 2023
Sami Fathi, an Apple enthusiast and leakster, who was pretty accurate in predicting the launch of the MacBook Pro with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips earlier this year has confirmed the news. According to him, Apple has reportedly briefed selected media organizations about the news of new iPads launching this week. He further mentioned that the expected iPad models that could launch in October 2023 include a refreshed iPad Air, iPad mini, and entry-level iPad. The report has been further verified by the source of the 9to5Mac as well.

However, a prominent Apple insider and Bloomberg reporter, Mark Gurman, believes that the launch of the new device won’t happen this month. Talking about the refreshed iPads launch in his
Power On newsletter, Gurman wrote: “More often than not, the company debuts new laptops and iPads in October — about a month after the latest iPhone and watch get out the door. And while I reported in July that Apple was planning such a release this year, the latest indications are that it won’t happen this month.”
Although Gurman has been pretty accurate with Apple product launches, Sami Fathi from Supercharged and 9to5Mac seem pretty confident with their reporting this time around. From users’ perspective, all you can do is wait until October 17 (the launch date reported by leaksters) to see if Apple launches the rumored M2 iPads models.
The launch of iPads is not the only thing that’s making headlines, we have come across multiple reports that suggest Apple is planning to launch refreshed MacBooks too.

New MacBook Pro and Air with M3 chip tipped to launch next year
According to Mark Gurman, the new M3-powered MacBook Pro could launch at the beginning of 2024, followed by the M3 MacBook Air launch a few months later. Previously he reported that the new MacBook might be launched in October 2023, but now says that it could happen somewhere between next spring and summer.
Hinting about the launch, Gurman took to his Power On newsletter to mention that the 13-inch and 15-inch models of the M3 MacBook Air have entered the engineering verification test (EVT) stage.
He further mentions that mentions that the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro which will feature M3 Pro and M3 Max chips have entered the design validation test (DVT). It is worth noting that
Apple unveiled the MacBook Pro with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips in January 2023.
Time will tell when we will see the new MacBooks, but it is quite certain that the launch is not happening anytime soon in 2023.
