A Redditor (u/marcusr_uk) reported that he could see a brief flash of pink line once or twice on the display of his brand-new Pixel Fold. Unfortunately, this started happening right after two hours. The user claimed that the device was working flawlessly till the time. He further added that after some time, the pink line on the Pixel Fold display started appearing edge to edge. As we write there’s no easy fix for this. Therefore, if you are facing display issues on Pixel Fold where you can see pink or white horizontal lines across both ends of the inner display, it is best to contact Google support and get the device replaced. 2. Pixel Fold displays dead pixels / OLED death and an unresponsive touchscreen 

Problems:

The pink neon line is not the only Pixel Fold display issue that has been reported as of now. Upon further investigation about the OLED death on Pixel Fold, we came across a post by Ron Amadeo from arsTECHNICA. In an

elaborate post, he mentioned how the inner OLED display of Pixel Fold died. Pouring in his frustration, he further added at first, the bottom 10 pixels went dead while forming a white line of 100 percent brightness that was visible across the screen. Further, the entire half of the foldable inner display stopped responding to touch and an hour later a white gradient slowly started growing upwards across the Pixel Fold display. We hope that you never face display issues on Pixel Fold of this kind, visibly it looks too awful. Problems: 

As per reports (1,2,3,4,5,6) multiple Google Pixel Fold users are facing an issue where blank borders (or black bars) appear around unoptimized apps. Unlike other

foldable like Galaxy Z Fold 4 where the app content is stretched out to fill the screen, the Pixel Fold is showing black bars around the app content. It is worth mentioning that the black bar app issue on Pixel Fold has affected some of the popular apps including Twitter, AMEX, FedEx, Authy, Amplifi, Nothing X, Venmo, and more.

If you are also facing app optimization issues on certain apps, it is best that you wait for a software update or an app update from Google Play Store to resolve the same. 4. Pixel Fold doesn’t unfold flat to 180 degrees and has rather an average-looking crease

We can’t ignore the fact that Pixel Fold looks pretty average when it is wide-opened. The big crease visible on the inner foldable display looks decent. Though you might ignore it as you keep browsing content, it still feels weird to see it on an $1800 phone. Apart from that, the Pixel Fold doesn’t unfold completely to a full 180-degree. It has been tested by popular tech YouTubers, Marquess Brownlee, MrMobile, and more. In the Pixel Fold review video, he clearly states that the device doesn’t completely open flat to 180 degrees, rather it is about a 2-3-degree short of being completely flat. 

As a user, you can’t do anything than just accept the fact that Pixel Fold has a rather average crease and unfolding experience than other foldables out there.  

5. Pixel Fold has an audible cracking sound at the hinge

Talking of hardware problems on Pixel Fold, we can’t forget to mention the audible cracking sound coming from the hinge. The problem was discovered by Raymond Wong at Inverse (inverse.com). In his article, he mentioned that he could hear a cracking sound coming from the hinge on his testing unit. You can check out the video to understand the issue that we are talking about. He added that the sound can be heard when you place the finger right on the middle of the hinge and try to unfold the device. When he contacted Google, he got a replacement unit, but surprisingly the cracking sound was still there, though it is not as loud (rather negligible) as compared to the one before. So, if you are worried after hearing any cracking sound coming from the hinge on Pixel Fold, the best you can do is contact the Google Support team and get the device replaced as soon as possible. 

6. Google Pixel Fold Screen Protector Peeling Off

Talking of quality control issues on Pixel Fold, it is important to discuss a problem where the screen protector starts peeling off. Apparently, the Pixel Fold screen protector started peeling off after 5 hours of initial setup and the owner noticed what looks like scratches. The user further mentioned that he can also see lines that look like scratches on the inside. That’s not all, Allison Johnson, a tech reviewer at the Verge also mentioned that he has also seen a faint scratch on his review unit’s inner screen protector after using the Fold for a week. We are still unsure what exactly has caused the problem. But I can tell that having the inner screen of an $1800 foldable phone look the way it does in the images below will scare the hell out of me.

Charging Problems on Google Pixel Fold

7. Pixel Fold charging 3.5 W Max (Slow Charging on Pixel Fold)

Problems: 

A Redditor claimed that the Pixel Fold is charging at just a maximum speed of 3.5 Watts. To remind you, Pixel Fold tops out a 30 Watts when charging via a wired cable. Upon further investigation, we came to know that the charging issues on Pixel Fold are caused by Adaptive Charging and are easily fixable. 

Possible Solutions: 

A user mentioned that turning off the feature and restarting the foldable was handy in resolving the slow charging problems on Google Pixel Fold. If you think you are among some users who are experiencing slow charging problems on Pixel Fold, make sure to check a few things before contacting the support team.

1. Make sure you’re using the official charging cable and the charger
2. Check the charging port of your foldable phone
3. Put unused apps to sleep
4. Restart your device and try charging again
5. Check if the charging port is wet, if yes, dry it out and charge your phone

8. Wireless charging not working on the Pixel Fold

9. Pixel Watch pairing issues with Pixel Fold

Problems: 

Some Redditors have complained that they can’t pair Pixel Watch with the new Pixel Fold. The watch allegedly goes into a pairing loop and eventually, it fails to pair with the Pixel Fold. While this Pixel Fold issue sounds equally frustrating, a few users have mentioned a solution that is mentioned in the section below.

10. Overheating Problems on Google Pixel Fold

Even though we haven’t come across any overheating problems on Pixel Fold, heating issues can happen in the long run. Remember, it is pretty normal for a device to get warm when you play games, use resource-intensive apps, and watch HD videos on 5G. However, we believe that this problem is mainly associated with an unoptimized third-party app or using a cheap 3rd party charger. It is worth knowing that if your Pixel Fold overheats without any reason, it is a matter of concern. We also recommend you should pay attention to those little things to avoid any sort of heating on your Pixel Fold.

11. Battery drain on Google Pixel Fold

In a shocking claim, Marques Brownlee mentioned that he just got screen time of 4 hours which he says is C+ battery life.
