Adobe launches AI-enabled “Photoshop Camera” App

With a mission to empower creativity for all, Adobe has introduced “Adobe Photoshop Camera” on November 4, 2019. The app that will make everyone wonder if such photography was ever possible with a smartphone camera.

Photoshop camera is an AI-powered camera application that will bring the magic of Photoshop right into your palms. Adobe Sensei, the AI platform and framework of Adobe has always worked to deliver breakthrough experiences in the field of Artificial Intelligence.

With this app, you can capture, edit, and share amazing photos by using real-time Photoshop-grade magic. This app can instantly recognize the subject in your photos like whether it is a portrait, a selfie, or a food shot. It can then automatically apply sophisticated features at the time of the shot capture, while always preserving the original shot.

The power of this app is leveraged to understand the technical content and automatically apply complex adjustments. The app claims that everyone, not just professionals, would be able to make the right edits to their photos. It also allows its users a curated feed of lenses made by well-known artists in which Billie Eilish is an early partner. Some cool limited-edition lenses are inspired by her music and videos.

“The biggest platform companies have done a great job in pushing the hardware. But we can do way better on software and the goal of this application is not to replace the default phone camera, but to add more software-magic to it, that’s unique to Adobe. It would be a dream come true for all the photography lovers.”

– Adobe’s CTO and Executive Vice President, Abhay Parasnis

The app is currently available as a limited preview for iOS and Android devices. The company is aiming for an official launch in the year 2020.
