After being leaked in renders, Huawei’s next foldable smartphone is finally official. According to a post on Huawei’s official Weibo account, the company will announce a new foldable phone called the Huawei P50 Pocket later this month. The Huawei P50 Pocket has a clamshell design that folds out to the size of a smartphone, unlike Huawei’s previous Mate X foldables, which fold from a tablet to a smartphone. It has a design similar to Samsung’s Z Flip devices and Motorola’s Razr. The P50 Pocket, launching on the 23rd of December, will have a clamshell design with a premium look, according to a photoshoot of the device posted on Weibo by Harper’s Bazaar China.
The device will also have three rear cameras at the back inside a circular camera bump, according to the renders. The Huawei P50 Pocket has a circular secondary display beneath the camera bump that displays notifications, time, alerts, and more. A volume rocker key and a power button are located on the right side of the foldable smartphone. A USB Type-C port, speaker grills, and a primary microphone are located on the bottom part. Furthermore, the renders reveal nothing about the upcoming
foldable phone’s specifications.

We still don’t know anything about the specifications and features, but we suspect a Snapdragon 888 chipset with no 5G modem. The trio of cameras will most likely be a wide-angle, ultrawide-angle, and telephoto lens. The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security, according to Engadget China, who also noted that the smartphone comes in silver and gold colours.
